Drafting Technicians

If you’re a problem-solver with a creative streak, here’s an exciting career path to consider.

Architectural drafters create technical drawings that pull together all the needed information about how to build a commercial and residential  structure. They bring accuracy and precise specifications to an idea that started as a sketch.

The architectural draftman’s precision matters at every stage of the process, so he or she needs to be an excellent communicator even after the drawings are done — especially if changes are needed.

Project Designers

A project designer uses technology to create diagrams and plans for the creation of buildings and structures. Architectural design involves engineering, design, and architectural components to develop plans that are accurate. Builders and construction workers use those plans to erect buildings and other structures. Your responsibilities include drafting drawings and schematics for clients. Your duties also include researching laws and building codes so that your designs are safe and legal. You are responsible for collecting data, and making sure that the final product follows the client’s design preferences.

Architectural Designer

An architectural designer is a supervisory project designer with experience in both design software as well as the building codes and construction assemblies to successfully construction a building.

Oftentimes the Architectural Designer is collaborating with other professionals such as Engineers, Land Surveyors, Septic Designers, Contractors and governments to make a project a reality.
